Penhaligons
Penhaligon's London. William Penhalligon was a fabulous alchemist and perfumer and created special scents for the dandies and most fashionable in London.
He established Penhalligons in the heart of Piccadilly and created his first fragrance Hammam Bouquet in 1872. It was inspired by the smell of the Turkish Steam Rooms that were next to his original shop on Jermyn Street.
He made a fragrance for the Duke of Marlborough and named it Blenheim Bouquet, which to this day is still Penhaligons best selling fragrance since it was created in 1902!
He then became the barber and perfumer to the Royal Court during the reign of Queen Victoria. Penhaligons has two Royal warrants; one for the Duke of Edinburgh and one for the Prince of Wales.
Penhaligon’s eye for exquisite packaging and delicate nose for fine fragrances have set them apart as a true favourite for the elegant bathrooms around the world.
