Aquascutum is one of Britain’s finest Heritage Brands dating back to 1851 when tailor John Emery founded the brand and derived the name from two separate Latin words; ‘aqua’ meaning water, and ‘scutum’, meaning shield.
John Emery invented and patented the innovative technique becoming the first to introduce rain repellent cloth.
