Aquascutum
Aquascutum is one of Britain’s finest Heritage Brands dating back to 1851 when tailor John Emery founded the brand and derived the name from two separate Latin words; ‘aqua’ meaning water, and ‘scutum’, meaning shield.
John Emery invented and patented the innovative technique becoming the first to introduce rain repellent cloth.
Amongst the brands powerful roll call are HRH King Edward VII, HRH Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher.
Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzig wore the Aquascutum advanced Wyncol D711 fabric to protect them against the sleet and snow as they climbed Mount Everest for the first time in History!
