Gloves

We have chosen the quintessentially British brand Dents for its finest quality. Dents gloves are made of lambskin or from our favourite Pittards 3000 extra soft leather. There are gloves for all occasions. Gloves have long held a special place in history and have been used in symbolic gestures of challenging ones honour and the act of Duelling; conferring dignities and bestowing blessings, to concealing ones identity by masking ones fingerprints in unlawful pursuits!

In ancient times, Royalty and Church dignitaries wore gloves as symbols of power. In the middle ages leather gauntlets were worn for Riding and Falconry and the more elaborate and decorated gloves were used for ceremonial occasions and state affairs.

Queen Elizabeth I, loved gloves so much she had more than 2,000 pairs which were looked after by a special wardrobe mistress!

The glove come in many forms: as protective wear, for sporting purposes and of course, dressing.

The dress and driving glove has long been a staple of the well-heeled British lady and gentleman and as such we are showcasing some that we thought you should add to your wardrobe.
