Press Launch in Moscow, by Alexia Somerville

Last week the team flew to Moscow to launch the new online gifting boutique on Wednesday the 15th of July hosted by Ms Caroline Wilson, the Minister of Economy.

Being a British gifting boutique, GO-BRITISH directors decided to launch the new website with a 5 O’clock Tea held in the west wing of the former British Embassy being the residence of Ms Caroline Wilson. This stately building has truly stunning views situated directly opposite the Kremlin and was the perfect setting for a rather styling event.

The organization and promotion of the event was taken care of by the UK Trade & Investment body operating from the British Embassy, company and was a huge success with many key members of the press and VIPs in attendance.

Guests included Konstantin Andrikopulos, the Director for Development of Bosco di Ciliegi, the leading fashion retailer in Russia, Maria Baibakova Director and Chief Curator of Baibakov Art Projects in Moscow and Natasha Kimberley whose business has been bringing the best of British and European design items to the Russian Market since 1996. Russian Vogue, Grazia, In Style, The Times, Esquire, Time Out, Afisha and Cosmopolitan were just a few of the titles in attendance at this event from the press side.

The event started in a most civilized way with guests greeted to the sounds of Elgar wafting through the speakers and sparkling refreshments on arrival.

Fabiola de Freitas who looks after the PR for the company and Alexia Somerville who is the creative consultant for GB Luxury Limited greeted invitees as they ascended the stairs.

As the room began to fill with guests it was not long before a second set of doors were opened revealing the dining room where guests were treated to a truly British afternoon Tea of Cucumber sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, and towers of iced cup cakes with lashings of tea and buttered crumpets.

Claudia Marodim the founder of GB Luxury Ltd gave a presentation to the party on what the concept behind go-british.co.uk was, an introduction to the team and a walk through the site with full explanation about the services and the brands involved.

This eloquent review was further helped with the aid of an accompanying plasma screen which had the entire presentation translated into Russian.

Guests were encouraged to explore the site and were introduced to some of the products in person such as items of Mawi jewellery, Victoria Grant hats, Lulu Guinness bags and Fox Umbrellas that were displayed for the guests to interact with.

In the weeks preceding the event, invited guests received a stylish invitation sealed with the logo imprint on a traditional wax seal. Presentation is a major part of the experience of go-british.co.uk and as the event came to a close the guests were each presented with a gift packaged in the beautifully designed gift boxes that customers will receive with each purchase they make from the site.

The site is now live and fully operational able to serve interested parties around the world. Russia was the first launch due to the high levels of interest in this market but the team will be hosting further presentations in Brazil and the UK shortly, with other countries to follow.
