Scarves
Scarves are one of the most versatile accessories in any wardrobe. They can be tied, draped, knotted and folded to convey varying aspects of ones personal style.
The French called them Cravats from the Croatian word Kravata
(Apparently Croatian Mercenaries loved to wear them in the 17th Century which then got adopted into fashion!)
It became a staple of the 19th century gentlemen’s wardrobe and when made in fine silks and richly embroidered it could set one apart as a man of distinction and good taste.
On dark suits a beautiful silk scarf can add a touch of colour to an otherwise conservative outfit if draped elegantly around the neck.
Scarves became a popular accessory for the gentleman of leisure who would often be seen relaxing and unwinding at the gentleman’s clubs around.
Fashionable London in a smoking jacket, crystal tumbler in one hand and a silk scarf tucked neatly around his neck under his robes.
These handsome scarves have been hand picked for you to add a touch of refined elegance to your attire.
