Michael Caine
In 1933 a star was born. English actor Michael Caine is one of the most prolific and iconic Actors of his generation. He has acted in over 100 films and is one of only two men to have been nominated for an Academy Award in every decade since the 1960s.
Michael is very distinct working class cockney accent made him stand out as a character actor as many British leading men at the time he came to the fore has very stiff upper class accents. This was most noticeable in his first major role after many TV appearances with the film Zulu in 1964 where he played the role of an upper class British Army Officer.
Michael was born into a very working class family background without any of the privileges associated with many of the leading Brit pack, but he was talented and hard working and a striking figure
The films he will be remembered for the most are The Italian Job, Get Carter and Alfie where he was seen as the dashing but roguish ladies man who is always on the make.
He has always been particular about his style and his tailors on Saville Row will testify to that. Finely cut suits and neatly tied neck ties and pocket squares with sharp cufflinks, and sometimes a pair of sharp glasses, he was always dressed to perfection and great attention to detail championed his stylish manly look that told everyone who was in control.
