Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung – The Anti-Fashion Fashionista:
To call Alexa Chung “Anti-Fashion” is not to say she hates fashion, it’s to say that what she tends to do with it is frankly illogical. Flats with couture prom dresses and brogues on the red carpet are not exactly the norm and shouldn’t really work but on her, they just do. Her uncanny ability to look absolutely high brow while completely nonchalant has the fashion crowd swooning.

Alexa Chung unsurprisingly started out as a model which she abruptly called time on and shifted gears into television. This saw her become known for her irreverent presenting style, quick wit and of course superb fashion sense.

Alexa is always working the vintage angle and her desire to mix British nostalgia and comfort often lead to her unorthodox combinations. She successfully balances feminine and masculine styles so can either be seen carrying large handbags often in briefcase and satchel styles on the crook of her arm or cute cross body bags. Her nods to menswear often come in preppy touches – a hat here, a skinny or buckled belt there – but her jewellery is distinctly feminine. She always seems to have a pendant necklace to hand even if she wears no other pieces. Her mantra seems to be simple – she simply wears what she likes. Alexa Chung’s look is a mix of vintage, nostalgia, quirk wrapped around the building blocks of classic British pieces.

She’s become a trend setter by simply wearing what she loves but then you wouldn’t expect anything less from someone who’s now a contributing editor at British Vogue.
