Liberty of London
Tucked away behind the busy Oxford Circus and Regent Streets in a traditional Tudor building, Liberty is a haven for beautifully designed products. Founded in the late 1800’s by Arthur Lasenby Liberty, it has become one of the most famous department stores in London.
The main reason Liberty has such a strong identity linking it to London is the iconic Liberty print. Originally designed by the founder and handprinted with blocks, the fabrics were used for clothing and furnishings. Now you can find the beautiful floral prints on scarves, tote bags, diaries, and even purchase lengths of fabric for sewing projects! The Liberty print has evolved into a symbol of quintessential British style.
Liberty’s designs were at the forefront of the Art nouveau movement and in Italy Art Nouveau actually became known as the Stile Liberty after the London store.
Liberty is a welcoming shop, with products placed throughout small rooms and charming nooks for you to discover. The beautiful window displays engage and inspire passersby, and the product selection speaks for itself.
Here we have chosen a selection of the Best of British products from this well-established heritage brand.
